Manny Villar is the Most Outstanding Kapampangan in 2012

Senator Manny B. Villar, accompanied by her wife, former Cong. Cynthia Villar, received the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Award (MOKA) recently  in San Fernando , Pampanga in recognition of his extraordinary achievements in business and entrepreneurship. 


Last December, Senator Manuel Villar bagged the most coveted award in the province of Pampanga for being the Most Outstanding Kapampangan during the 441st Pampanga Day celebration held in the City of San Fernando. The Most Outstanding Kapampangan Award or Moka was given annually during the province's fiesta to fellow Kapampangans who contributed significantly to the welfare of the people of the province. Moka awards were also given to those who brought pride and honor to the province.

There were twelve awardees during the event and Senator Manny B. Villar led all the awardees by bagging the Moka awards for Business and Entrepreneurship. Manny Villar is known as business tycoon by establishing and expanding his businesses all over the country. Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc., and Manuela Corporation are just two of his many successful ventures in the business world.


His abiding motto, "Sipag at Tiyaga" has been his guide as well as his principle throughout his career in business and in politics. This principle has been followed by many of his avid supporters in able to be successful in their own respective fields.

Senator Manny Villar was also very successful in politics. He represented Las Piñas for 9 years in Congress from 1992 to 2001. He was also the House Speaker during his terms in the House of Representatives. He ran and won senatorial seat in the 2001 midterm elections in which he was part of the People Power Coalition. In 2006, he was elected as Senate President by the majority bloc in the Upper House. He is now serving his final term as senator of the Philippines.

Manny Villar, unknown to many, is a bona fide Kapampangan as his maternal grandparents came from Purok Bamba, Barangay San Nicolas in Sasmuan, Pampanga. Her mother was a seafood dealer who was raised in the said town.

During the event, former Las Piñas Representative and a proud wife, Mrs. Cynthia Villar accompanied his husband. She was the proudest amongst all as his husband grabbed the most coveted and prestigious award in the province.

Manny Villar, alongside Mrs. Cynthia Villar, established different businesses and in managing the most awarded organization in the Philippines, the Villar Foundation. The Villar couple has been helping each other hand in hand when it comes to helping people through politics.
