Top 5 News of the Month: Train Stations Derailed Services

Netizens, through the social media, has bombarded Department of Transportation and Communication for mismanaging the MRT and LRT lines. Netizens got pissed off even more when Presidential Communication Secretary suggested public to take buses instead of taking the long queues in MRT and LRT's stations.

In related story, the Philippine National Railway was under fire in the Senate hearing. The PNR's corporate life is expiring in June 2014. Instead of giving effort of renewing it, they seem to ignore and let it expire. Senator Ralph Recto, author of the bill renewing the corporate life, and Senator Cynthia Villar scolded the PNR and DOTC for lacking of effort.
PNR was operating for about 1,300 kilometers in 1964 but they are now operating for about 50 kilometers only.

Top 4 News of the Month:  Jinggoy, Revilla and Enrile faces plunder

April 1 was supposed to be a joke but the joke was made to Senators Estrada, Revilla and Enrile. Ombudsmand filed plunder raps against the three senators who were implicated in the P10-B pork barrel scam.

Senator Jinggoy Estrada called this action done by the Ombudsman as "Mor-Moro". He filed an appeal for reconsideration saying that nothing on record to prove that he participated ang got kickback from the pork barrel scam.

The Supreme Court unanimously upholds RH Law's substantial provisions. Republic Act 10354 or the Reproductive Health Law was declared constitutional but several justices struck down eight provisions partially.

This decision made by the Supreme Court made conflicting sides, the pros and cons, happy and unhappy. The pros are happy that the law will be in effect after the decisions. The cons considered this law as a weaker one.

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquaio wanted revenge after his controversial defeat in his first meeting with Timothy “The Dessert Storm” Bradley. He got what he wanted through a unanimous decision against the American boxer.

Manny Pacquaio has finally convinced the world that he was the deserving winner in the first bout against the previously undefeated Bradley. The Dessert Storm is no longer undefeated after suffering his first loss to Manny Pacquaio. All scorecards favored Pacquaio 118-110; 116-112; and 116-112.

Top 1 News of the Month: Obama in Manila

Obama had a two-day State Visit in the Philippines. This has resulted to signing of a pact that strengthens the ties between the Philippines and the United States through joint military trainings to be held in the country.

Obama told the press media that his goal is not to contain the Chinese military over the disputed territories but to make sure that the internal rules and norms are respected.

President Barrack Obama had a sumptuous dinner and told audiences that he love adobo and lumpia made by his head chef, a Filipino, in Washington. The dinner was attended by high ranking officials and celebrities.

As expected, rallyists stormed streets and protested against the presence of Obama in the Philippines.

  1. Napanuod ko nga yung hearing ng Department of Transportation and Communication about MRT and LRT. Nakakainis kaya yung sabihin nila na hindi totoo na mahaba ang pila ng mga tao sa MRT. Subukan niya kaya lumabas at para makita kung hanggang san umaabot yung dulo ng linya.

    "Obama in Manila"- Well, I can say that it is a good thing that Obama came here in the Philippines to strengthen the bond of America and Philippines but I also hoped that America will give the Philippines a helping hand to protect our island from the Chinese.

    buti nga pinansin yung problema sa MRT and LRT kasi kung hindi binigyan pansin yan expected na mas lumala pa yan lalo na ngayon lumalaki population natin dito sa Pilipinas.

    Naiconnect ko na ata sa RH Bill yung solusyon sa haba ng pila ng MRT at LRT ah. ehehe
