Throwback Movie: Mamma Mia! The Movie

Mamma Mia continues to capture moviegoers who love to watch movies at the same time love listening old pop music.

Want a feel good movie while listening to the songs of the Swedish pop group who was at the peak of popularity in the 70’s and 80’s? Mamma Mia is a perfect movie for you

Plot

A soon-to-get married 20-year-old Sophie Sheridan lives with her mother Donna on the small Greek island. Sophie is going to marry her fiancé Sky and wants her father to be present during the wedding day but does not know who he is so she sent letter invitation to three men who she concluded as father.

Sam Carmichael, Harry Bright, and Bill Anderson arrived at the place but was rejected by Donna. Donna and Sky did not know that her potential father was invited to the event.

At one event, Sophie confessed that she invited all supposed father. She asked her supposed fathers one by one but got no correct answer or even led to who really is her father. Confessions and questions complicate matters for Sophie as all three admitted they are the real father.

Sam tells to Donna that while he left to get married, he did not pursue it, and returned to find her with another man. Harry confesses that Donna was the first and last woman he loved and he has begun a relationship with a waiter from the taverna. The men agree that they would be happy to be one-third of a father for Sophie.

Review

This is a feel good movie and one great musical movie. Not as serious as Les Miserable but not as teeny as High School Musical or Pitch Perfect but it gives awesome throwback music courtesy of ABBA.

The set of movie add up to the pop music as it is set in Greek shore which relaxes moviegoers and wonder about vacations.

Drama acting and theme is good for adults of all generations especially those who have loved ABBA or their type of music. This is a very light drama unlike Les Miserable. Watching and listening all songs from this film will surely relax movie geeks.
