Ginebra San Miguel wins 2016 Governor's Cup Title

After 8 seasons or more than 20 conferences of drought, Ginebra finally grabs one with a buzzer beater win from their import, Justin Brownlee.

Brgy. Ginebra and Meralco Bolts were tied 88 with few seconds left in the game. Off the timeout, Brownlee received an inbound pass and took a risk outside the arc.

The shot went in with no time left. Ginebra went to win a very close out game against the Bolts.

The last championship title of Ginebra was the 2008 Fiesta Cup. For the Meralco Bolts, this is their first time in the Finals since joining the league in 2010.

The championship gives veteran coach, Tim Cone, his 19th title. Cone was re-assigned from Purefoods to Ginebra.

Coach Tim Cone gave Purefoods 4 straight championships which resulted to a Grand Slam in 2013-2014 seasons.

Ginebra franchise has now 9 championship titles since joining the PBA in 1979.

LA Tenorio was declared Finals MVP for consistently leading the team throughout the series.
